Messi injured: to miss El Clasico, out for three weeks

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been ruled out of next week’s El Clasico, after the club confirmed he fractured his arm in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Sevilla at the Nou Camp.

In the 17th minute of the clash, Messi went down awkwardly and was eventually forced off nine minutes after the incident, and replaced by Ousmane Dembele.

After the match, Barca posted a tweet confirming the injury.

It read: “Tests carried out on the first team player Leo Messi have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm. He will be out for approximately three weeks.”

The prolific forward will also be absent for the Champions League clash at home to Inter Milan on Wednesday.

If the time of his recovery span over exactly three weeks, then he will be out of the Copa Del Rey trip to Cultural Leonesa, as well as the league trip to Rayo Vallecano, the return Champions League match with Inter and possibly the home league game with Real Betis on November 11.

2018 Big Brother housemates, Ifu Ennada and Dee-One have been spotted fighting dirty on Instagram.

The reality tv stars went after each other for a pound of flesh over what was supposed to be a joke

The drama started after Dee-One shared a video of his hotel room in Jos, as he prepared to headline a show later in the day.

Ifu Ennanda joined many of his fans to take to the comment section and joked about him being on a trip with a “Big God”

Dee-One who would have none of the joke slammed her heavily and the former refused to retreat.

Here are screenshots of their conversation below;

It may be recalled that Dee-One, who was among the first set of housemates to be evicted from the show, said Tobi deserved what he got because he first tormented Cee-C.

He said;

“Tobi deserves it because he was even the one tormenting Cee-c. Yeah, he did. Tobi knew what he was doing. He started the whole story and the journey as if he was in love and needed something serious with her. He knew what he was doing. Tobi was even the one that went Big Brother and told him that my jokes are insensitive. But he’ll come out pretending as everything was normal.”

Nollywood producer, Chris Ekejimbe died from malaria drug overdose

Nollywood producer, Chris Ekejimbe died from malaria drug overdose

Popular Nollywood film producer, Chris Ekejimbe passed on on Saturday, 20 October, 2018 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) after battling acute malaria and typhoid fever for two months.

Sunday Vanguard has now reported that the producer died from an overdose of malaria pills administered to him at the hospital where he was previously receiving treatment.

According to Founding President of the Association of Nollywood Core Producers, ANCOP, and APC candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the forthcoming House of Representatives election, Comrade Alex Eyengho who broke the news to the media, “Chris became ill, while he was on location shooting his soap opera. He went to a hospital and was diagnosed with acute malaria and typhoid fever. He went in and out of hospital, yet his condition did not improve. I was one of the few persons who saw him before he died. What he told me was that the doctor mistakenly gave him an overdose of malaria drug and the drug damaged his red blood cell. He started emaciating. After he did all kinds of tests, it was discovered that his red blood cell was at a zero level. May be, because of the mistake of the doctor, he no longer had confidence in going to the hospital again. As a result, he was now receiving treatment at home. A pharmacist was coming to his house to treat him. This was going on for three to four weeks, until last Tuesday, when I visited him. I didn’t like his condition as I called his wife and manager, one Martins by the side and insisted that, he must be taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, for proper medication. I was able to convince Chris to go to the hospital again. But he didn’t, until last Tuesday. I guess by the time, he got to LUTH, it was probably late. And unfortunately, he gave up yesterday morning”.

Ekejimbe, a talented addition to Nigeria’s film industry was said to be shooting his yet-to-be-titled television series when he died. He had reportedly filmed 20 episodes and was to begin editing. He is being mourned by colleagues in the industry.

“I am coming back to Biafra” “I will bring hell with me” | Here’s what Nnamdi Kanu said on his ‘return’

Following his first public appearance in Jerusalem on Friday since September 14, 2017, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Sunday delivered a world press conference, from Jerusalem, Israel.

In his first public statement, aired live on the ‘Radio Biafra’ Facebook page, Kanu who is facing charges of treasonable felony at the Federal High Court in Abuja, since October 2015 when he was arrested in Lagos, amongst other things said Nigeria will not be the same again if he returns to the federal high court in Abuja where he was standing trial before he left the country.

Narrating how he escaped from the country on September 14 when the Nigerian Army invaded his house, despite the fact that his Nigerian and British passports had been seized by the court, Kanu said the intelligence arm of the Biafra group prevented the military from getting hold of him.

“Two jets were hovering over and they stormed the compound and I sustained several injuries and in the process of trying to defend me, 28 men fell.”

“IPOB Military intelligent evacuated me from my compound when the Army attacked me, I am in Israel and the efficiency of MOSAD will be replicated in Biafra,” he said.

Below are excerpts from the broadcast:

The IPOB Leader in his broadcast appreciated a number of leaders, attributing his survival to the State of Israel who he claimed supported his group.

“We thank Isreal for all the contributions they made to IPOB. I owe my survival to the State of Israel.”

“I thank Donald Trump and the government of Israel who stood by IPOB in our time of need, I thank Prof Ben Nwabueze who stood by me.

“I want to send my solidarity to Ayodele Fayose and assure him that Biafra will stand by him in this hour of need, we will have a special place for him in Biafra, I thank all my sureties that stood by me, my unavailability was forced on me,” he said.

Speaking on the case in court which granted him bail in April 2017, after 18 months in detention by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja, with stringent conditions most of which he has flouted, Kanu said:

“The (Nigerian) Army killed my dog Jack and few other people in my compound, I am sorry for what my sureties are passing through but I want to assure them that they will have a special place in Biafra. I shall not be honouring the Court.

The notion that I jumped bail is a fallacy in Law, I did not jump bail, on the 14th of September 2017 they came to kill me, they know if I go to court Nigeria will burn and I was forced to leave, I did not jump bail.

“Nigeria can not jail me. I will fight till the last day. Binta Nyanko court failed to ask the Nigerian Army why they invaded my home. Nigerian court is a Kangaroo court. I did not jump bail, I left because the court failed to protect.

“I am not a Nigerian. I already renounced Nigeria in 2015. I am a Biafran of British Nationality. I cannot be tried by a court I do not recognise. I do not recognise Nigeria. I can only come to the court with UN supervision.”

“Going forward, there must be guarantee from the international community so that this case can proceed and I will prove once and for all that there is something fundamentally wrong with the brains of those that rule Nigeria,” he said.

“The sole purpose of that evil dance was to kill me and members of my family. They didn’t want me to go to Abuja because they didn’t have any case against me. They were afraid they would be disgraced before the world. They decided to eliminate me instead. They know if I go to court, that very country will not be the same again.

“I am Nnamdi Kanu, no mortal flesh can kill me. They have not given birth to that very person. Since they didn’t want me to come to court, I shall come back to Biafra land. There is nobody who can accuse IPOB of engaging in any form of lawlessness. I am in Israel.

“This same court that granted me bail stood by and watched as the army disobeyed a court order. The army in contempt of court came to kill me. I was in my home preparing to go to Abuja for my case when they came to kill me. They even killed Jack, our dog. They killed my cousin, Adaku and 28 others. The notion that I jumped bail is a fallacy, a lie and a deceit. It is untenable in law.”

On the 2019 elections, he said:

“IPOB will not take part in any election until we get a referendum and this is not negotiable, we will achieve this by every necessary means.

Without a referendum, nothing will happen in Nigeria. IPOB will not participate in any election and that position will never change.”

“I am coming back to Biafra land soon and I will bring hell with me, the way it has never been seen before,” he stressed.

What Are The Causes Of Bed-Wetting Among Adults

A General Medical Practitioner, Dr. Samuel Adeolu, on Thursday, said bed-wetting among adults is a medical issue.

Adeolu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that the phenomenon among adult indicates an underlying health condition or traits inherited from the family.

According to him, study has shown that someone with two bed-wetting parents has a 77 per cent chance of becoming a bed-wetter.

He said:-

“When one parent bed-wets as a child, his son or daughter is found to have a 40 per cent chance of becoming a bed-wetter. These probabilities carry into adulthood as well,’.

Adeolu said that excessive production of urine during sleep was also known as nocturnal polyuria.

He said:-

“This abnormality can cause nocturnal enuresis in adults; but it is also a symptom related to type I diabetes.

“Patients with a smaller bladder are often dealing with primary nocturnal enuresis.

“The physical size of the bladder is not actually smaller, rather the Functional Bladder Capacity (FBC) can hold a smaller volume of urine.

“Related to FBC, if the muscles of the bladder, known as detrusor muscles, are overactive, nocturnal enuresis can occur.

“In fact, detrusor over-activity has been found in up to 70 to 80 per cent of primary nocturnal enuresis”.

Adeolu noted that psychological problems such as stress, fear, anxiety, side effects of certain medications, excessive ingestion of alcohol and irritable bladder are some of the causes of bed-wetting in adults.

He said that for secondary nocturnal enuresis, underlying health issue was at the root of the bed-wetting.

According to him, such problems can be associated with the prostate in men or pelvic organ prolapse in women.

He said:-

“Any of these medical issues can also cause bed-wetting in adults.

“They are Diabetes, urinary tract infection, urinary tract stones, neurological disorders, anatomical abnormalities, urinary tract calculi, prostate cancer, prostate enlargement, bladder cancer, or obstructive sleep apnea.”

He, however, said that the disorder among adults could be treated surgically with medication and a change in daily lifestyle routine.
