2019: Checkout the presidential candidates for seven major political parties

1. President Muhammadu Buhari, who polled 14, 842, 072 million votes, has been affirmed as APC’s candidate for the 2019 presidential elections. It came as no surprise after the current president was voted for as the party’s candidate.

2. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar today emerged the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the 2019 presidential election following a battle with the likes of Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Governor Aminu Tambuwal. Atiku came top ahead of 11 other aspirants at the end of the party’s presidential nomination convention. He polled about 1,500 more than the combined votes of all the other aspirants.

3. Former Minister of Education and co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls group, Oby Ezekwesili’s dream is the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN. The former Vice President of the World Bank emerged the presidential candidate of the party at the 2018 national convention of the party which held at Alexis hotel, Abuja. Ezekwesili stated that the time has come for Nigerians to change the old order of politicians that have been recycled in our political space with little or nothing to show as an achievement.

4. Former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke emerged as the Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party for the 2019 general election. Duke polled 812 votes to defeat his close rival, former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana, who polled 611 votes at the party’s National Convention held at Old Parade Ground, Abuja.

5. The Zenith Labour Party on Sunday elected former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, as its presidential candidate for the 2019 election. Mimiko was elected as a consensus candidate by members of the party in Abuja at its national convention. The presidential hopeful said that he would leverage on the party’s social democratic ideological orientation to convince Nigerians to work with him.

6. Motivational speaker, Fela Durotoye, would be vying for the presidential seat via Alliance for New Nigeria ANN’s platform. Just some days ago, the national chairman of the party, Emmanuel Dania, stated that Fela Durotoye was duly elected at the party’s presidential primary the previous week and remains the only recognised presidential candidate of the party for the 2019 poll.

7. Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu emerged last month as the presidential candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP) during the party’s national convention and presidential primaries. Moghalu, a former United Nations official, emerged after other presidential candidates stepped down from the race, noting that his campaign would be designed to build Nigeria.

Rates of post-trauma stress rise in British military veterans

War and conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan may have led to an increase in rates of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), according to new research looking at the mental health of Britain’s soldiers.

 

“In previous phases of the study, rates of probable PTSD in our military sample were broadly similar to the general population, but the rates now appear to have risen,” said Nicola Fear, a professor at the IoPPN who co-led the work.

 

Also, Simon Wessely, a professor of psychiatry at King’s, said the results “suggest the risk of mental ill health is carried by those who have left the service, and that part of the legacy of conflicts on mental health has taken time to reveal itself”.

 

“We know that more people are accessing services and more people are getting help,” he said. “So that’s good news.”

‘Stop Dragging Jesus Into Nigerian Marriages’-Freeze attacks Nathaniel

Controversial radio presenter,Daddy Freeze is attacking top gospel artiste Nathaniel Bassey for replying a fan who reacted to the absence of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s wife, Anita at their daughter’s wedding, which took place on Saturday the 6^th of October 2018.

Nathaniel Bassey in replying the fan, advised the fan to focus more on praying for the restoration of Pastor Chris and his wife’s broken marriage. This infuriated Daddy Freeze who took to Instagram to write a letter to Nathaniel Bassey. In the letter, Daddy Freeze, threw shades at the singer and further did a critical analysis of the embattled marriage of Pastor Chris.

Please do not take my words as insults, that’s not my intention.

But it seems you don’t understand what Christianity means. It’s not your fault though, when perhaps all your life you listened to pulpit lies from deluded people who renamed their village shrines and traditions ‘Christianity’, how will you have proper understanding?

The Jesus that you are praying to, why didn’t he heal the marriage of the Samaritan woman at the well in John chapter 4?

Let’s examine this critically o…. Oyahkhilome’s first marriage failed and you are praying to Jesus, the Samaritan woman was on her sixth man, after FIVE FAILED MARRIAGES and JESUS NEVER TOLD HER TO FIX HER MARRIAGE O!

We all have copies of the Bible, so if you have any contrasting views, kindly show me biblical evidence of where Jesus told her to go fix her marriage or prayed for her dead marriage to work!

Jesus NEVER condemned her or prayed for her to go back to her first marriage, HE OFFERED HER LIVING WATER!

This world will be better off if we stopped all this pretentiousness and started offering people living water like Jesus did, instead of praying for people who are probably better off without each other, to come back together IN SUFFERING again.

Do you know how many people have had their lives destroyed because they were forced to remain in, or return to dead marriages by pastors? Murder, suicide and depression are some of the many consequences.

If Jesus did not pray for a Samaritan woman’s marriage to be healed, despite meeting her in person, one on one, let’s stop dragging him into Nigerian marriage issues and focus on the message of salvation which most of you have almost totally ignored.

Anger In Community As Touts R*pe House Wife To Death

 

She was allegedly raped to death by a group of hoodlums.

It was gathered that the woman had gone in search of firewood to prepare meal for her husband during night fall when she was said to have ran into a group of hoodlums who raped her to death and dumped her body in the bush.

Mr. Sunday Akpoghene, a family member, who spoke to journalists in the area, said after a period of endless waiting by the victim’s husband for her return, a search party was conducted and her lifeless body was found in the bush a stone thrown from the house, and her body sustained with injuries including her private parts.

A police at Otujeremi Division, who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity, said that two persons were arrested in connection with the incident, adding that clear indications showed that woman was allegedly raped and killed by the gang of the suspects as investigation was on going.

But the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, disclosed that it was the fourth of its kind in the last few weeks in the entire Ughelli communities.

He said, “the police are investigating cases of rapes, murder in many of the Ughelli communities, the anti kidnapping squad unit of the state CID has taken over those cases, particularly the woman’s incident, it’s the fourth case the police are handling, and all the hoodlums involved will be brought to book.”

Unconfirmed Sources said that the woman had been married to a farmer close to ten years without a child and was a devoted worshipper of an Anglican Church in the area before she was allegedly raped and killed.

19-Year-Old Kylian Mbappe Breaks Ligue 1 Record

France international Kylian Mbappe further cemented his status as the best young player in the world after making history by scoring four times as Paris Saint-Germain annihilated their ligue 1 counterparts, Lyon.

Mbappe scooped the best young player award as France won the World Cup in the summer and is expected to become the first individual to retain the Golden Boy prize.
