Award-winning Nigerian artist Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon popularly known by his stage name Reekado Banks is an Afro-pop artist, songwriter and performer. Best known for his debut album ‘Spotlight’ which earned number 10 on the Billboard World Album Music Chart in 2016.

Reekado Banks Bio

Banks was on December 6, 1994, in Lagos, Nigeria. He is the last child of his family. His mother is a caterer and his father is a pastor and a native of Ondo State, Nigeria.

Reekado grew up with his parents and siblings in Lagos State. His elder brother is a music producer and his elder sister is also a gospel singer.

The youngster completed his secondary education at the age of 14 and also recorded his first songs in 2008. He also graduated from the University of Lagos in 2014, where he obtained a degree in History and Strategic Studies.

At the beginning of his music career, his elder brother produced all his songs and also tutored him on the basics of singing, writing, and producing. The star was also inspired by top musicians including 2Face Idibia, M.I, Don Jazz, Olamide and DJ Jimmy Jatt.

The talented youngster was formerly known by his stage name ‘Spicy’ before his record deal with Mavin Records was signed. He derived the name Reekado Banks from Reekado which means “Strong Ruler while Banks means “Wealth”
